How it works

01

Paste a link

Paste the page's address into Luminar. Or press Summarize on the page itself with the Chrome extension.

02

Get the main points

Luminar reads the whole page and writes a short briefing in plain words.

03

Jump to the source

With the extension, click a point to scroll to the exact passage on the page and highlight it.

What it is good for

Long reads

Decide if a long article is worth your time, and get its argument if it is.

Docs and guides

Get the steps and key details out of long documentation.

Wikipedia

Get a clear overview of a topic before going deeper.

Long threads

Catch up on long discussions without reading every reply.

What you get with every briefing

A briefing is more than a block of text. It is short, it shows where each point came from, and it stays with you.

Every point cited

Each point in the briefing links back to the part of the source it came from, so you can check it in one tap.

Saved to your library

Briefings stay in your library. Sort them into collections and come back to them later.

Listen instead

Have any briefing read aloud when you would rather listen than read.

Share or download

Send a link to the short version, or download the briefing as a PDF.

Your language

Read the briefing in 16 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Diagrams when they help

When the source compares things, follows a timeline or explains a process, the briefing can include a simple diagram.

Questions

Which pages work?

Most readable pages work: news articles, blog posts, docs, Wikipedia and long threads. Pages behind a login or a paywall may not work from a link.

Can I summarize right on the page?

Yes. With the Chrome extension, a Summarize button appears on readable pages, so you do not need to copy the link.

How do I check a point?

Each point is cited. With the extension you can click a section of the summary to highlight the exact passage on the page.

Is it free?

Yes, you can start free with no card. The free plan includes 20 summaries a month, of which 3 can be audio or video up to 20 minutes each. Paid plans start at $8 a month billed annually and add more audio and video hours.
